TeenTober is hosted by libraries nationwide every October to celebrate teens and their hometown libraries. We are promoting year-round teen library services and the exciting ways these numerous services help teens learn new skills and fuel their passions in and outside the library. We invite teens to take advantage of reading in all its forms - books, magazines, eBooks, comics, audiobooks and more. The Franklin-Springboro Public Library currently offers all kinds of programs just for teens, such as our Teen Travelers Series. TeenTober is here to promote these programs, share the fun of YA literature, promote college scholarship and testing resources, and raise awareness of how much our libraries value teens!
Explore the Teen section of our website for more information, such as online testing with LearningExpress Library, which provides access to online tests such as the SAT, ACT, AP Tests, GED, GMAT, and LSAT. There are tests for specific careers including: Military, EMS, Firefighting, Law Enforcement, Civil Service, Teaching, Nursing, and Cosmetology. There are also tutorials that can help improve math, reading, and writing skills.

Teen programs coming soon to the library are centered around a travelers’ spirit with the popular Teen Travelers Series. Offered to teens ages 11-18, our series includes a “Día de los Muertos Fiesta” on Friday, November 1 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and “Around the World in Two Hours” on December 13 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Registration is required. Studies show that reading for fun improves students' test scores. It's also important to talk about reading with family and friends. You can model this behavior by asking your kids what they are reading, visiting the library, and making reading a part of your daily routine.
