The Franklin-Springboro Public Library offers in-person programs to engage young readers. Details on upcoming programs can be found below.

Book POP! -- Tween Book Club

  • Dates: Tuesdays, October 11 and November 8
  • Location: Springboro City Building Community Room, 320 W. Central Ave. in Springboro (Next to the library.)
  • Time: 5 - 6:30 p.m.
  • Ages: 9-12
  • Registration: Required, as space and supplies are limited. Call (937) 748-3200 to sign up.
  • Description: Participants read a specific book prior to the meeting date and then attend the Book POP meeting to discuss the book, do a book-related activity, and have light snacks. Those who register for this program may pick up the book for the next meeting at the Springboro Branch. (If you prefer to pick the book up from the Franklin Branch, let us know when you register and we'll have the book sent to Franklin.)

Homeschool Project Zone

  • Dates: Tuesdays, October 18, and November 15
  • Location: Franklin Library
  • Time: 2 - 3:30 p.m.
  • Ages: 5-12
  • Registration: Required. Call (937) 746-2665 to sign up.
  • Description: A program for homeschoolers ages 5-12 is held at 2 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month, September - November at the Franklin Library. This 90-minute program includes directions and supplies for completing one or two projects or crafts. A different project is featured each month. Registration is required, as space and supplies are limited. Call the library to sign up for one or multiple Homeschool Project Zone sessions.
    • October: Make a mando-harp craft (small musical instrument)
    • November: Design a 2023 calendar for yourself or as a gift.


Chemistry Show

  • Date: Saturday, October 22
  • Location: Franklin Library
  • Time: 11 a.m. - noon
  • Ages: 6-12
  • Registration: Required. Call (937) 746-2665 to sign up.
  • Description: As part of National Chemistry Week, chemist Bill Crawford will present a chemistry show from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 22, at the Franklin Library. Learn about chemistry as you watch amazing experiments.
