Registration is required for all programs unless otherwise noted, and are open to teens, ages 11-18.
Spring Flower Arranging
Registration for this program is currently FULL, but we encourage you to call and put your name on the waiting list.
They say April showers bring May flowers but why wait until May? Join us at the Franklin Branch on Wednesday, April 9th, to build your own bouquet of fresh flowers! Vases and flowers will be provided and teens will be able to decorate their own vase with glass makers, stickers, and ribbon. If you have a favorite flower you’d like to see at the event for your bouquet, feel free to fill out this google form and we will search for it as we buy supplies! ❀

Tiny Art Time
Join us for our Tiny Art Time program on Tuesday, April 29th, at the Franklin Library and finally learn what it feels like to be a giant as you paint on tiny items! Mini canvases and mini easels, itty bitty bookshelves, and various art supplies like paint and stickers will be provided. Feel free to bring anything else you’d like to include in your tiny art as well, but all you really need to bring is yourself and your creativity!

Color Our World: Summer Reading Program
Join us as we “Color Our World” by participating in our Summer Reading Program for teens! Beginning Tuesday, May 27th, you can come to either branch of the library to pick up a reading log that will help you track your reading and your activity points this summer. Earn prizes by completing your reading log and stop by the library along the way as you receive prizes to celebrate your reading journey at the 10 and 20 hour marks. At 30 hours you’ll receive a grand prize for completing your log and have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win one of our raffle baskets. Additionally this summer, you can earn points by coming to the library’s teen programs and doing the activities on the back of your reading log. At 100 points, come back to the library for another prize!

Start Your Engines with JA
Reach for the Cars during our Start Your Engines Teen Program at the Springboro Branch on Wednesday, June 4th, from 2-3:30 p.m.! Join the Franklin-Springboro Public Library in collaboration with Junior Achievement of Middletown in exploring the essential costs of buying and operating your first car! Learn how to dream within your means, hear from a local business owner, and venture into financial literacy all with this free and exciting program.

Hanging Yarn Art
Come “hang” out with us at the Franklin branch for our Hanging Yarn Art Program on Thursday, June 12 and make a fun and functional piece of yarn art! Together, we will make yarn mobiles out of wooden hoops and rods, yarn, cardboard shapes, and beads which can be hung up as a fun piece of home decor. All supplies will be provided so all you’ll need to bring is yourself and your sense of whimsy!

A Midsummer's Reading Bash
Have you been working hard to “Color Our World” for the Teen Summer Reading Program recently? If so, come relax and hang out with us at the Franklin Branch on Thursday, June 19th, for our Midsummer Reading Bash! Enjoy some pizza, play some board games, and talk to other teens about what you’ve been reading this summer!
When registering for the event, please let librarians know about any dietary restrictions your teen may have so we can plan accordingly!

Leave No Trace: Library Scavenger Hunt
Did you know that 80,000 tons of solid waste are produced in the national parks annually? Come learn how to minimize your impact on the outdoors during our Leave No Trace Scavenger Hunt on Thursday, June 26th, at the Franklin Library then use your new knowledge to participate in a library scavenger hunt and a game of trivia! Prizes will be awarded to the winner of both the trivia game and the scavenger hunt and snacks will be provided!

Business Battle with JA
Join us for a four day camp with Junior Achievement of Middletown and find out if you have what it takes to be a business tycoon! Starting Monday, July 14th, you will enter into this business crash course where you’ll learn about the basics of operating a business, come up with your own twist on the traditional lemonade stand, and then compete against your friends to find out who has what it takes to be the library’s best seller! J

Poetry Party
Sylvia Plath, Ocean Vuong, Walt Whitman, and now… YOU! Join us for our Poetry Party at the Franklin Branch on Thursday, July 24 to try your hand at poetry collages and find out if you have what it takes to be one of the poetry greats! Cut out words and pictures from old magazines, embellish with scrapbook paper and stickers, and let your creativity flow during this teen program. All supplies needed will be provided but feel free to bring anything you’d like to add to your collage! And don’t worry, no one will have to read their poems aloud but everyone is welcomed to do so if they’d like ☺

Back to School Crafternoon
Join us for our last summer program before school starts by coming to our Back to School Crafternoon at the Springboro Branch on Wednesday, August 6th, to say goodbye to summer and prepare for the new school year! Bring your own school supplies to decorate, make something new to hang up in your locker, or do something totally unrelated to school as we spend one last summer afternoon together. A variety of craft supplies will be provided to teens so no need to bring anything except yourself, your creativity, and whatever you want to decorate! ☺
