Programs and Activities for Children
The library provides programs and activities to engage, entertain, and educate children. Please read descriptions, age restrictions, and registration requirements below, and join us for fall fun at the library!! Click HERE to download the complete list.
September is Library Card Sign-up Month
During September, children who sign up for a library card will receive a special prize while supplies last. (Children who already have library cards may show us their cards to receive the prize.)
Book POP! Book Club (Learn more here.)
Join the coolest tween book club around! We read a new book each month and then meet to discuss the book, complete a book related activity, and have snacks! The book for the September 19 meeting (A Rover's Story) is available for pick-up at the Springboro Library. If you’d prefer to pick up your book at the Franklin Library, let us know, and we can have it sent there.

Homeschool Project Zone
A program for homeschoolers ages 5-12 is held monthly at the Franklin Library. This 90-minute program includes directions and supplies for completing one or two projects or crafts. A different project is featured each month. (Younger siblings are welcome to attend, but when supplies are limited, we cannot guarantee there will be enough supplies for younger siblings to participate in the main activity.)

- September: Worms Exploration! A representative from the Warren County Solid Waste District will teach us all about worms with a hands-on activity.
- October: Art Exploration! Let's learn about and make art like Pablo Picasso & Henri Matisse.

Craft Studio for Kids
Spend the afternoon crafting with us. An array of projects for kid crafters will be available. All supplies will be provided.

- Time: 2 - 3:30 p.m.
- Location: Springboro Library
- Ages: 3-12
- Registration: Registration is NOT required. Drop in any time during this program to make a few crafts with us.
Family Fun: Book Character Pumpkins
Children and their grown-ups will work together to decorate pumpkins based on their favorite book characters. This activity will involve paint, so dress accordingly. This activity will not involve pumpkin carving.
Simple ideas and examples will be provided. Families of all artistic levels are invited to participate!
Younger and older siblings are welcome to attend and participate. Each group who registers must have at least one child who is 5-12 years old and at least one adult.

Chemistry Show
Chemist Bill Crawford will present a chemistry show where attendees can watch amazing experiments and learn about chemistry.

DiNovember
We are celebrating DiNovember all month long. Stop by the children’s area at the Franklin Library for self-led activities featuring our favorite gigantic, prehistoric creatures, dinosaurs! You’ll find dino-mite puzzles, games, and crafts while supplies last.

Festive Stories and Snacks
Join us for winter and holiday themed stories and snacks. Different stories and snacks will be featured at each session, so you may attend each day if you'd like. Please pay close attention to the times and locations listed below.
