The Franklin-Springboro Public Library is excited to offer its summer reading program Tuesday, June 1 through Saturday, July 24.
All children, ages 6 months - 12 years, are invited to read and earn prizes! (Those ages 11 and up may do the teen summer reading program instead if they prefer.)
It's as simple as 1, 2, 3!
1. Get Started.
Stop by the library to pick up a reading log or download and print a copy of the reading log here. The logs have 50 spaces to fill in with a sticker or to color each time you read.
All reading for the program should begin on or after June 1.
To complete the program, participants simply need to track the amount of time they spend reading. Reading time includes time that children read themselves and time that someone else reads to them.
Parents/guardians decide whether to consider their child a younger reader or an older reader.
For younger readers, one sticker = 10 minutes of reading. Each time you read for 10 minutes, put a sticker on the log. Younger readers need to read for approximately 8 hours to fill up the log sheet.
For older readers, one sticker = 20 minutes of reading. Each time you read for 20 minutes, put a sticker on the log. Older readers need to read for approximately 16 hours to fill up the log sheet.
3. Get rewarded for reading!
Once you have filled up your log sheet with 50 stickers, come to the library to receive a prize pack and to sign up for your chance to win a grand prize.
Please note: there is only one time for prize pick-up this year, and that is when every space on the log sheet has been filled in. To decrease contact, the library won't have the different levels of prizes this year. Fill up your log sheet and get all of your prizes at once.
